Not FedWikis after all?
It’s been a few days since I opposed the closing of the ticket opened for FedWikis. On the one hand, Ward Cunningham has stated that the system should be useable without JavaScript. But it seems he neither wants to work on that, nor help me to work it out.

FedWikis
I’ve investigated FedWikis a bit further and want to keep some notes. It is a system incorporating really cool ideas. I do have some problems with the current implementation though.

Fork the Internet
I was actually after the topic of social networks (again). The versions supposed to available on i2p weren’t reachable and I looked at some installation of GnuSocial on the ClearNet. This is where I hit the “Fork the System” thing of the FSF.

I wanted (and still want to) look into the code of I2P. And while I have cloned it for myself, I have been browsing around several times already and also came to ask the “why monotone instead of git” question …

First steps with FedWikis in I2P
Seeing how people struggle with salvaging the old wiki of Ugha and setting up a new wiki with MediaWiki, I have been thinking about alternatives. One such alternative could be federated wikis, which were started by the wiki-inventor Ward Cunningham. This is how I started to get one running over I2P, and why, first of all.
